Spartan armor is a armor that is only utilized in a special type of soldier. This soldier must receive extensive chemical injections. His bones and muscles have to be capable of withstanding the suit. All units in the UNSC have a Neural Interface, or N.I., but Spartans are special in that they use it all the time.
Neural Interface
The N.I. is embedded in the back of the neck or head, and runs all the way up into the brain. It is typically unused except for pilots and Spartans.
Undersuit
The undersuit of a Spartan is a highly flexible but tough rubber suit, with embedded electronics. The suit extends to around the neck, and underneath the chin, also covering(And by extension, using) the NI.
Inner Armor
The layer right after this is a titanium composite, it allows extreme flexibility with the toughness of kevlar. Spartan Generations I and II have this as part of the undersuit. In, or underneath this suit is a crystalline liquid capable of detecting and reacting to a users movements. A gel composite is also found inside to dampen and absorb impacts and shocks of falling, which is why a Spartan can drop from a pelican without a parachute and be fine. It also contains pressure fabric and thermal gel, and when these react with electrical currents they will incubate the soldier.
Outer armor
Outer armor of a Spartan is generally Titanium or Titanium alloy. The chestplate extends around the back, and usually has build in maneuvering thrusters. They are weak, and only effecting in zero-G, or falling environments. Forearms typically have a small PDA device embedded in the user's main hand. It must be attached and latched to the soldier at a special station.
Helmet
A Spartan's helmet is one of the most crucial components of his suit. Although the suit can function without the helmet, its functionality may be limited. Inside the Spartan's helmet is shock absorbing gel, designed to minimize concussions. There are also lasers that display a HUD on the visor, but, even in clear state, cannot pass through it. The visor itself can protect against vision obstruction by bright lights or the sun, given some deployment zones could be close to a star.
The Spartan helmet will bond with the neck of the Spartan's suit, and can only be released if the Spartan makes a conscious effort to take it off. Some helmets have flashlights embedded in them, even some have ballistics calculators.
This concludes general SPARTAN I, II, III, and IV armor and capabilities.
Side note; Spartans gen 1 and 2 are more of full body exosuits than a conforming suit. Most of the time, you will have at least a III suit available. Gens V and VI will be introduced later after launch.
